Aim,J&G are a few.....my thought on "hand select" is this..some 18 year old kid with his pants about to fall off goes out to the warehouse and "hand selects" the rifle that is easiest for him to pick up......MHO

Probably not far from the truth although you have. A better chance at a matching bayonet.

True but I want a battle ravaged, worn Mosin to add to my issued rifles. The stock on my M1 Carbine has the man it was issued to initials on the stock and my Enfield has combat wear

Reminds me of the K98 I used to have.....looked like it was run over by some Russian T34 tank.

These Mosin-Nagants are all arsenal refurbished so are in pretty good shape.

Mosins are addicting! I've got 7 now including a sniper, m44 and m38.

Fun to shoot. The carbines are usually the loudest rifles on the range.

I recommend wearing a thick jacket to help with the recoil.

I just saw a 1938 Tula Mosin for $140, beautiful wood and smothered in cosmoline. It was a refurbished rifle but all the parts matched. Great stock, beautiful blonde color, but unfortunately I had to turn it down because I'm looking for a SKS.

Shop for price, they all came from the same place. Luck of the draw can get you a rifle in nearly new condition, but the worst of the refurbs are still good rifles. The Mosin-Nagant is a great way to start to build your historic collection. The prices are rising steadily, so you will be happy tomorrow for what you buy today.

It was hard to turn it down. The wood was probably the prettiest stock I've seen on a Mosin. But like I said, I've been wanting a SKS and I already have a 1941 Izhevsk but you can never have enough Mosins.
