Mil-Surplus Pistols
I've been looking for a good mil-surp pistol, I was leaning toward a Nagant revolver, but ammo is not available other than online(for the most part). At my LGS, there is a Spanish Star in 9mm, also I've been looking at a M57 or another Tokarev variant. Any suggestions?

I have a CZ82. They are accurate little shooters. The price is right at around $200 depending on where you get it and you can get 500 rounds for around $100. Here is a picture of mine that I Duracoated and put new grips on.

Wow those are nice grips, but I was looking for a Spanish Star model B, a Tokarev variant, or a CZ-52. How is ammo availability for 9x18 for the CZ line of pistols?

9x18 ammo
Is about at big stores and gun shows.
Try gun stores and big sporting goods stores for sales and a Taurus, S&W, Kel-tec, or other firearm are out there for reasonable pricing. The Makarov type pistols are alright, but check for reliability at the range. |

I really like Eastern Block mil surplus pistols, I've got a Polish P64 and a CZ 82 both in 9mm Makarov and just ordered a Yugo M57 Tokarev 7.62x25.
The 9mm Makarov ammo is cheap and plentiful online. I'd start with a CZ 82 for a 1st one in your collection. |
For ammo availability and price you can never go wrong with 9x19, I would get the Star and not just because of the caliber.

I have narrowed it down to a CZ52 or a Spanish Star model B

I want the CZ for the price, but the Star for the availability of ammo anywhere (ie Walmart, LGS, ect)
