M44 Scope Mount Question
So, I'm sure this is a lame question and I'm wasting your time, but seeing as how you are still reading, I'm guessing you have time to waste.
I was bored and was surfing Ebay ( just lost half of the readers) and stumbled acrossed a listing for a scope mount made to bolt on in place of the existing rear sights. They claim no gunsmithing needed. Do you think it could work? Would it be sturdy enough to not wobble after one round? It's only $16 with shipping but I'd rather spend it on surplus ammo than a cruddy scope mount. Can't spek to the specific mount you are looking at, but c&p of a good article on making a M44 into a scout rifle, including this TYPE of scope base: http://www.surplusrifle.com/shooting2005/mosinscoutrifle/index.asp
Good luck- and let us hear how this comes out for you- |
Cool Article, Thanks!

even with the scope the M44 is still not going to be a tack driver and is not ment to be.

I think I like the M44 with the original military stock better. I would get a synthetic stock for mine only if the original was in bad shape.

This is the best one I've found for under $80.
MilSurpStuff.com Products Very firm mount much better than the B-Square or NC-Star scout mounts. I have 2 and I'm very happy with them. I don't use the rails, my Mosin's are NOT Tacticool. |
