Looking for a new to me gun....
In the market for a new gun. New technology is fine but nothing strikes my fancy. What are some awesome old guns to be had for $500 and under? That are still shoot able and enjoyable? I have a 1934 hex mosin. I have looked into the pistols. Whats out there that is something to be had? Maybe a pistol for the range, and a rifle to hunt with?? Open to all options as my experience in this area is lacking.

The enfield looks awesome! Maybe I can find one around town. What are they commonly chambered in other than .303 Brit?

Dammit cane, I seen you posted a 1903 and thought you knew where to get one for under $500!!
If you want a pistol, how 'bout something Russian to go with the Mosin? A Nagant? Tokerev? Makarov?
A Nagant revolver would be neat to go with the Mosin-Nagant...
I had a Russian Makarov, bit I sold it before I realized I had a Ruskie gun fetish... Been kicking myself ever since.
Im quite fond of the Arisakas if you wanted another rifle..

Ammo would be a consideration. I need to get a nagant revolver for the cool factor lol. An arisaka would be cool but how is the ammo for it?

I am a big fan of the "Old Tech" weapons. Mainly for the beauty and the history of the weapons. So I would recommend anything from WWII and backwards. I have an 1873 Springfield Trapdoor, a 1942 and a 1944 Mosin-Nagant. All three required a little TLC before firing them, but it was well worth the time. All three shoot very well. I once had an Enfield MKI (I think), like an idiot I sold it. It is my objective to have one weapon from each country that participated in WWI and WWII. The sad part it that the hardest ones to get are the ones made and used by the United States.......go figure.

A Swiss K31 can be had for $250--$350. They are a straight pull bolt action, accurate, and modern as well as surplus ammo is available.
