Every M44 I've shot had the bayonet out. It's just what you do. Besides...why not?
I want to be a ball turret gunner.

During the early 60's arms dealers were selling SKS and some AK-47's to African rebels and telling them if they open the bayonet they could use it to guide the bullet to its target...It would be funny except that they actually believed it.

Mine all very, the best of my Russians is a 91/30 sniper replica I just bought at 300 yards @ 4 inches, probably would be better in more capable hands. My M44 and M38 tend to group @ about 2 inches at 150 yards (haven't gone out much further than that). Most of the 91/30's I've owned do 2 inches easily at 200 yards. I will add that my Finnish M39 groups much tighter than any of the Russians, 3 inches @ 300 yards.

These are averages for the most part, including myself and friends as the shooters, some much more capable than myself.

I'll let you know after I order this gun.
