Default Lee Enfield Markings

I have a 1944 Lee Enfield, and I was cleaning it, and I noticed there was a "D" with a circle and a slash troughs it. Next to it was a "B". After looking it up, I found out that it was a draw lapped barrel, can anyone tell me what the mean? Thanks

Process that was tried to smooth out the rough edges from a newly rifled barrel. A lead button was cast onto a rod that was passed thru the bore, lapping compound applied, lapping button "Drawn" thru the bore several passes. Was dropped as not being absolutely necessary for a military grade firearm, wartime production pressure, etc etc.
