I have one on my k98k .When I get home I'll take a picture of my weapons in my gun room, I have many old military weapons, except a Johnson, and I just never could get the price right with the seller. I also take some with broken stocks ect and make custom rifles out of them.
This one you're looking at is not mine. It's an auction gun that sold for 2300 EURO.
I will hopefully get home tomorrow. I rolled my jeep down a mountain and waiting for the insurance adjuster to look at it before I retrive it.
That is a sportered K98 w/ a single claw mount. That type of mount/ring set up was pretty common on sportered rifles.

I don't really remember all the facts about the old military weapons I have, because I accumulated them from years gone by at flee markets and anyone that had a cheap gun. I've had some of these for 45 years when they cost $20.00. I've never sold one, but I hardly ever keep up with them. I mostly collect Colts and have got one for Christmas for the last 40 years plus others I've bought. I have a gun room with all my military stuff I'll put on here when I get home. My Colts are in an old bank vault, where abouts unknown.

That would be awesome. That rifle started as a Military rifle, but is no more.

Default Scope for K98

Try B Square non gunsmithing scope rail. Remove the rear sight and leaf spring by driving out the hinge pin with a brass drift. Installation is easy, just read the instructions. Scope choices imo are limited. I mounted a cheapo NcStar pistol scope to the mount and it couldn't withstand the recoil of the 30.06. I have a 1950 Columbian mauser K98. Get a good pistol scope for your 8mm. The mount is great. Good solid base for optics.

Here it is. Used a laser bore sight to get it close. Can't wait to get to the range with it. Thanks for everyone's help!

sorry. Didn't take the time to read that you already got one. Is that some kind of a quick detach scout system? I like it

That looks great! Enjoy shooting it and connecting with your Dad.
