Just Got My 13th Mosin Nagant

Well, I have been lusting after a Finn M28 for a while, and got serious this week. I won one on Gunbroker, but got in a bidding war at the very end with a fool who drove the price up $65 in the last ten minutes. But she's all mine now. A Finn M28 Civil Guard Mosin Nagant. This makes Mosin Nagant # 13 for me.

Damn dude, 13? That's a bit crazy. Although I do know a guy that has 6. I get the feeling he is trying to get a collection of consecutive years.
BTW gb page not found.

This is gonna sound like a really crazy question but; Are you in any way partial to that type of rifle?

13 is bad luck. Hurry up and go buy another. ;)

If you autobid, it's likely the gun owner screwed you.

The last time I used autobid, my competition mysteriously bid

right up to my limit, to the very dollar, and wasted my

afternoon in the process.

I know a guy on another board that has about 30.

Of course, he was picking them up years before I started and was getting them for like $50 back then.

Nope, it wasn't the autobid function. (That I know of, since 2 minutes after my bid would go in, he would bid it higher.)

EDIT: Oh, I see what you are saying....the guy selling it had a different user name and HE was bidding on it to drive the price up. Well, you can do that, but then you run the risk of the guy you are driving the price up on saying too much, and he quits. Then YOU would be left with the winning bid. And then the fees for listing it kick in, and you would have to relist it again.

I only have 26 Mosin Nagant rifles, I'm feeling left behind and need more.

I am slightly over 50 of the things, but I am not very partial to them........:)

I am a lightweight in the collector community, some folks I know have hundreds. How many hundreds they won't say, and no one asks, but I wouldn't be surprised if some went to four figures.

There are so many variations of these old Russian murder devices you never run out of the "next on the list."

Is it nuts? Yep, probably. Crazier than golf? I doubt it. But it is fun and it is a collection a man on a working budget can build. I very much enjoy building and shooting the collection.
