Japanese Swords

Anybody know anything about them? I was offered a 1880's Jap Calvary Sword, are they worth much? Its the style with the handguard, not the WWII Samurai style.. (I wish it was!)

There are sword forums.....I.sent a photo of a sword I have. Only to be told it was a fake. They were not too kind also. Guess the sword guy can just "stick it"

Im not really interested in the Calvary style, I do think the officer's ones look cool though, From what ive read many were made from old Samurai swords..

Just thought id ask though!

WW2 vs 1880's? I would think the older cavalry-type sword would be worth more.

Is it curved like the U.S. cavalry swords from the same time period?

They might be, I just dont care how they look, I dont like the handguard... They kinda look like other cavalry swords, curved with a large handguard...
