Default It's Alive!

I got bored so I built this out of parts.

The barrel assembly is a 1936 Mauser.

The toggle is from a commercial DWM of unknown type.

The frame us from a (pre shoulder stock lug) 1914 Erfurt.

The sideplate has no number and has the little cut indicating it is from a police Luger.

The takedown latch is from a Luger of unknown origin.

The gips are old Jay Scott grips.

Tested today, it works just fine.

Nice creation and resurrection from the dead.

Thanks. The goal was to create a fully shootable Luger without shelling out full Luger prices. This one cost me no more than a new Glock, but is probably a lot more fun.

Not showing up in the photo, but someone had cold blued the safety, and trigger and chromed the take down lever pieces. I removed that stuff and restrawed them. Red nail polish for the fire position, white for the words and serial #. I am toying with swapping out the mainspring for a 10% spring so it can handle any 9mm round, but I do dislike changing mainsprings on Lugers. Tedious.

Congrats. The Luger has a cool factor like no other pistol. It is one gun I have never owned that I lust after.

The 1936 "S/42" Mauser had the stock lugs on the grip frame. Your pistol looks like the lugs were removed? This was done to the Russian pick ups "Vopo".

LoL, read it again. That is NOT a 1936 grip frame. It is a (early) 1914 Erfurt grip frame. Only the barrel assembly is from 1936.

Couldn't be. A) the barrel hadn't been made yet, and I hadn't made the parts into a gun until 2017.
