Finding the parts was a real adventure. Bringing an old rifle back to a functioning firearm is really rewarding. Brass for black powder rifles is pricey. The brass for my 45-110 Sharps is around $4.00 dollars each. I just bought 150 rounds of the brass to replace my wore out supply.

Check out the Sept issue of American Rifleman. There's an excellent article called the Guns Of The Easter Rising, which took place in 1916 in Ireland. It shows the weapons used by the IRA against the British and the Vetterli is one of the rifles discussed. I wish more was written about it, but since this rifle isn't well known I'm happy to read anything written. This could be what this rifle needed to get more people interested in it. Only time will tell.
