Default I prefer Marlin derringers

My neighbor walked over this morning and asked if I had a trigger spring for the gun he had bought over the weekend. I said of course I have one. We went in my shop and I put in a new trigger spring in his Marlin derringer. These are petty rare guns.

Is there a name marked on the gun, probably on the top of the barrel? Such as "Victor", "Never Miss", or "OK"?

What caliber is that? Does it just look like a brass frame, or is it a brass frame?

I don't always shoot Derringers, but when I do I prefer Marlin.

Yes it is brass frame. 22 short caliber(the only 22 cal at the time,I think).

Does the barrel pivot to the side? It looks like it could not tilt.

According to this site, it was made between 1863 and 1970.

Neat little historical find there. Any idea how much he paid for it?

Yes. There is no provision for an extractor.
I never asked what he paid, though they are not really worth very much.
