No, I thought that would have a negative effect on my application, so I played it safe and went with Charlie Manson.

Somethings very wrong dude. No way it should have taken this long.. No way at all. I've gotten my renewals turned in less than a couple weeks. My initial app only took a month to get (11 years ago though). Someones really dropped the ball on your app. I suggest sending emails to higher level folks (supervisors) in the agency. Everyones got a boss..
