Default Got my(dad's) 91/30 in

Dad decided the 91/30 we just ordered and received is his(dammit) but I was told that I could order myself one in the coming week, I've already de-cosmofied it mostly(the barrel and action, the stock will need more work) and oiled it I can see every damn land and groove in the barrel! No cross drilling and it's shiny, it's a 1944 Izzy, the Receiver, Bolt and Buttplate are #'s matching, the Bottom of the Magazine(guess is what it's called?) is a strikethrough/force match, so without further ado, here is the 91/30 from Cope's Distributing:

It didn't have that much Cosmoline on it or in it, the FFL whom I've dealt with before said that it's the only one he's seen with very little in it, I just soaked it in boiling water for about 45mins, changed the water and rinsed it and all parts off inbetween the changing of the water, dad and I are gonna take it out to our homemade target and shoot a couple rounds tomorrow and I'mma figure out the peep sight on my LB Enfield.

I assume you mean you boiled the barrel in water. Not the entire gun.
Nice looking gun. You should have a blast with it. What did you pay? Did you get all the accessories ?

Yeah just the barrel and action, the stock was wiped off with towels as there wasn't that much cosmo on it. $99.94 is what I paid and it came with all accessories + 1 extra ammo pouch.

Next time try Mineral spirits. Cleans well and helps the metal.
I think it is great that your Dad and you are on the same path. How old are you? My boys love shooting.

Love the Mosin buy them now, I think they could be like the SKS, in a few years double the price and harder to find.
