The Russians ordered some 3 million of these from Remington and Westinghouse. They of course were unable to pay for all of them. The American Taxpayers had to buy these up for $30 bucks each. Remington and the British owned Westnghouse would have shut down. The U.S. Military used these for Natl. Guard Etc. I have seen these marked U.S. Property with the Ordinace Bomb markings. Many of these were rechamabered to 30-06. In the 1920s they were sold off for $3 dollars each.
But I finally got the Remington Mosin Nagant. And looks like I got it before Bubba got his stinking fingers on it. Paid way too much, but I've been trying to find an unaltered one for a long time.
By the looks of those hangars that is a Spanish civil war rifle.
