The Russians ordered some 3 million of these from Remington and Westinghouse. They of course were unable to pay for all of them. The American Taxpayers had to buy these up for $30 bucks each. Remington and the British owned Westnghouse would have shut down. The U.S. Military used these for Natl. Guard Etc. I have seen these marked U.S. Property with the Ordinace Bomb markings. Many of these were rechamabered to 30-06. In the 1920s they were sold off for $3 dollars each.

It was made towards the end of WW1 Some were actually given to a few American troops since we got stuck with them.

Is that still a M91?? I almost bought a Remmy Mosin but it was updated to 91/30 specs....

Id really rather have one of those Winchester "Mosins"!!
