It's my first pistol and my first post WWII firearm. And I'm going to order a holster and extra magazine and another firing pin just incase.

Also, will putting a aftermarket firing pin in it take away it's C&R designation? Cause I thought if you put non-original parts on a C&R gun that it takes away its C&R? I may be wrong though, just wondering

Doesn't really matter unless you bought it on a FFL03 collector's license, IIRC. If you bought it from a shop, it shouldn't matter.

I like mine, also a '53. Sportsman's guide has a three pack of mags and a barrel and a pin. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/search/eSearch.aspx?SearchTerms=cz-52&eMode=
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/3-pk-8-rd-cz-52-mags.aspx?a=1098108

Fancy parts: http://www.harringtonproducts.com/

The online price for a spankin new one is $300 at czechpoint. http://www.czechpoint-usa.com/products/vz-52/vz-52-pistol-unissued-condition/

You MUST shoot it at night; great flameball.

EDIT* Read up on the decocker issue before you put too much faith in it.

Are the 9mm barrels still available? My friend has one but he will not part with it.

Although I've never had a problem with mine, huh, my sons now. If you are aquiring backup parts you might want to get a set of rollers also. Ours had a cleaning rod in the original holster as well as a spare mag.

Also, we found that the accuracy of the gun depends on your trigger pull technique more than most pistols. I guess because it leaves the barrel @ 1600fps the slightest hard trigger pull will make you shoot low. It is definately the most accurate pistol that my son or I own once good technique is mastered.

Enjoy !!

This is the info on the decocker issue. Basically, don't point it at anything you don't want ventilated to decock, particularly your groin as irony might come into play.
