I hope this is not improper story for this forum. The gun is a Colt Detective Special .32. It was owned by my father's mother. It was her apron gun while living in Houston. When she passed on. It was given to my mother. A school teacher. I would not like to say if and when it was carried. When she passed away, it was given to my wife. Three generations of Campbell's wives have carried this one weapon. It is still in beautiful condition. And someday maybe my daughter in law will carry it too. I was told it was made in the 50's. A rare gun for a Colt, but not valuable to anyone as far as money goes. As for my family it is priceless.

I am trying to convince my wife it is for protection from bad guys. Not to shoot Campbell husbands! I know it is not a big caliber. I made sure it has JHP ammo in it. It is big enough to put someone in the hospital though. And she is a decent shot. She never got to meet the first Mrs. Campbell that started this tradition. I can tell you, they are a lot alike.
Good story- I now have a H&R Sportsman that was bought new by my wifes Grandfather in the 30's & handed down to her Dad & then to me- Yes, I was his favorite SIL
BTW- Its priceless too---Always remember a few bucks are gone fast--heirlooms like ours last as long as WE let them remain ours--

Amen. This gun will be handed down just like my fathers masonic ring I wear. Which seems off. The guy gets the ring. The gal gets the gun. I better rethink that one.
