DAMN!!

Somebody actually did their job in a timely matter!

Mine took about thirty days.

Ok, I ended up sending in application on or around Sept 5th - acutally forgot to sign my initials and it was returned to me around Sept 27th - it was back in the mail on the 28th. Got it today. 5 weeks - not too bad!!

Just FYI for those with a C&R license and go to a LGS, plan on paperwork and background checks. None of the ones around me knew what to do with my license or what it was good for so I bought a Mosin Nagant the normal way.

I just found out that a C&R is worth nothing in NJ unless its just to collect long guns purchased out of state like PA, etc. I plan on collecting WW I and earlier handguns and those have to go thru an FFL anyway. So I'm rescinding my C&R application.

I would recommend that you hold onto your C&R Permit just in case you stumble across that rare weapon that you just got to have on the internet. It is one of those "Rather have it and not need it" situations.

Still have to go thru an FFL. So there's no savings in fees. And to that I'd still need a pistol purchase permit as well. It's pointless while I still live in NJ.

Then why not just upgrade to an FFL? One more thing, if you surrender your C&R Permit, do you get your money back? I just hate to see somebody waste their hard earned money.

Some stated a C&R allows Big Brother to know what you buy and where you are, no different than filling out the Form 4473. You want to get big brothers attention? Order a pallet of 7.62 x 51 and .223 ammo from one of the on line ammo dealers and have it shipped to a residential address.

Not surrendering, in withdrawing my application. I don't want to start a business I just wanted to start a collection and not have to deal with a xfer and nics fee for every pistol.
