I used to take my Mosin Nagant M44 when deer hunting. It fires a 7.62x54 round. I quit when Fl outlawed the use of miltary rounds for hunting Now I can only take it to the range.

I will be purchasing a Mosin once I get the C&R application sent and approved. I checked on ammo for the mosin. Soft point ammo is available if that makes a difference for your situation????

I don't know if Fl would allow it. It's definately something I'll look into though. I love my M44. I swapped a buddy an old 4x4 truck I had for the M44 and 200 rounds of ammo. Some say I got ripped, but I disagree. I still shoot it and the truck broke after some 3 passes at the mud bogs
