I just scoped a sporter 38, i did not like the method used by most of the ones i have seen, right on top of the chamber and over the safety, my safety is original and i wanted use it if possible.I found a Williams side mount that fit as far forward on the receiver as possible. I found a gunsmith that was able to do the job. I will put some pictures up soon. Now to regress,I would like to make amount as close to original as possible. It needs to be mounted just forward of the bolt release and lower than the way I did mine. If any body has pictures of the original mount please send them to me for to see if it can be done.
