Got a lot of brushes, not exactly sure what the sizes are. They're all kits. But I'm eager to try Mr. therewolf's suggestion of the brown vinegar. Don't have brown vinegar, but got plenty of white left over from last season's canning (not a good crop). Might try that?

Beware, vinegar is highly acidic. I'm sure it will clean your bore, just make sure you clean the vinegar out afterwards.

At no point did I say leave the vinegar in the barrel.

IIRC, the post involved following up with a solvent.

What I do leave in the barrel is ATF.

ATF will change your whole cleaning paradigm,

if it hasn't already.
