I've had both, the 7.7 and the 6.5. Liked the 6.5 better. Loaded both but hard to find brass for the 6.5. The 7.7 is easy to make from 30-06 brass....

I believe it was a type 38 in 6.5. after loading it was a lot like the .243 and was a very acurate rifle. It's been several years ago. The 7.7 was very easy to make using 30-06 brass, just pass through the die, trim a little and loadwith .311 bullets., but the 6.5 is almost impossible to find any brass.

I will have to check now im curious , and it is good brass for reloading i use it for my two 7.7 99's .Also agree on the accuracy they can be turned into tack drivers if done right and loaded right. think norma also has a 6.5 jap load. Now im curious lol.

Very nice rifle and I love the price. Mine does not have the mum and I paid twice what you did. Before ammo was expensive I order several boxes from www.sportsmanguide.com and plan to save the brass to reload when the time comes.

If you ever want to sell it, you should get at least $200-250.00 or more for it.

Good job!

I got one back in December for $180 with 20 rounds of ammo.

Sweet rifle. It's really light, accurate, and has a historical background.
The only thing I don't like about it, is how the bolt cocks on the bolt close, not the open. The safety could be a little easier, too.
Other than that, it's a great gun.
I even took it hunting, last season, but never shot anything with it.
