certain ways around legalities. a lever action rifle can't be cut down to make a Mare's Leg rifle, but a reciever made and classified as a pistol can be.

the Taurus Judge, fires shotgun shells, it has rifling in the barrel that makes it a pistol, not a shotgun, so hence it's legal.

thats a hell of a way to ruin a good plinking gun. i have 2 Mosin Nagants, an M91/30 and an M44 carbine. the carbine kicks twice as hard as the rifle so i can only imagine the kick those little beasts pack as "pistols".

There was a whole thread of maniacs over on Calguns who built these Obrez. Basically, they all started with de-milled (cut into three pieces) receivers, you weld the receiver back together and voila, you have a pistol, not a rifle, not an SBR, no NFA, no tax stamp needed. And if you can have that in California, you can have that in almost any state.

Takes some skills in welding and fabrication but as the owner of multiple Mosins, I think having one of these would be a very cool range toy. Totally impractical but fun.

That....doesnt look fun at all. I think I may have sprained a finger just looking at the pictures. That stock would have to made of solid steel to even make that a viable shooter.

Also, *Ouch*
