Antique rifle - looking to ID it

Flobert parlor rifle. Prolly .22 bb cap or 6 mm rimfire.

The Flobert was both a brand, and a style of action. A VERY weak style. Which was OK, because they were PARLOR guns- indoor target shooting. Think pellet gun, without the pumping. They were made in several calibers, up thru 9mm.

Now here is the important part- the weak action did not matter, because they shot an extremely weak cartridge. No powder. Primer only. A cartridge with powder will wreck the gun, and it won't do you much good, either.

BB Cap stands for Bulleted Breech- it was a percussion cap, with a lead ball press fit in it. I have single rounds in 4mm, 6mm, .22, 7mm, .32, and 9mm. No, other than the 6mm and .22, not made any more. Older than the .22 Short.

Don't know about 6mm but bb caps are available. They're a .22 short with no powder just priming compound. Do not attempt to fire a .22 short from it.

Thank you very much for the replies gentlemen. I never would have known. I google the weopn after your guy's responses and have learned alot about the firearm. It has quit abit of age as was told it did. Not exactly sure how much but WOW! The fire arm was given to me withthe stock in three pieces. It had been broke some way or another and I put it together. Not perfect but, its the best that could be done IMO. I thought about trying to find or have a stock made for it. I will just hang this one over the fireplace. I can get no history on the weapon as of how far it goes back. My Grandfather passed when I was a young man and my Father has the same info on the rifle as I do. This is definetly COOL. I wonder how and why my family even has it. Once again, Thank you guys for the info.
