Darn. Well thanks for the heads up. Well I guess I'll see what the CMP has to offer now.

RM1SAS M1 Garand, SA (Springfield) Service Grade Please allow 120-180 days for delivery

$625
S&H $24.95 per rifle

Dont pay attention to the 120-180 days, they have been shipping in around 30 days lately
If you are serious about a Garand do it soon, supplies are starting to run down

Do you think the South Store would have Field Grade Garands in stock even though they aren't on the website? The South Store is only about 2 1/2 hours from me. Thinking about going soon, to save time and shipping but my GCA membership expired in September so I'll have to renew it.

I would pass on the HRA Garand and instead get a Service Grade Garand from the CMP. IIRC they are $600 or $700. My Brother in law just got a Service Grade from them and the bore and throat measured 1 & 2. Except for the op rod all HRA parts. The stock had all the correct cartouches and except for a few dings on the hand guard was in overall VG+/Exc condition with an excellent bore.

Service Grades are never all the same manufacture of parts, some can have many of the correct parts or be a complete mixmaster. They can have USGI wood or may come with new commercial stocks/handguards
You will get a good shootable Garand for $625

That's most likely what I'm gonna go for. All the barreled receivers I've seen are $500+.

By the time you get it rebuilt you will be wishing you had just paid $600-$700 through cmp.
