Thank you all a lot for your advice, otherwise I would have screwed the pooch. One day I'll find a good, quality Garand, but for now it will have to wait. Thanks again!

Heck it don't matter which company made it, as long as it's still in shoot able, original configuration then I'm happy. I'll check them CMP's website, or maybe go to their South Store over my Christmas break.
EDIT: the CMP is no longer accepting orders for receivers or barreled receivers. They're pretty much sold out of everything except Special and Sniper Garands and some service grades for $625 at the least.

Ok this guy is full of crap. I questioned him about the rear sight and this was his reply: "The rear site is exactly the same as the 1947 "never issued" M1 Garand that I compared it to...only missing the dust cover.....the only thing ground off near the site is the charging lever....which is part of the control rod that needs replaced anyway. Not sure who you're talking to but they're misinformed"

That's what I thought. I trust all you guys. This guy is probably just trying to scam someone with a POS hack job. Thanks again!

Once I Saw the "Improper" rear Sight combined with the other issues, it just sounds too problematic...

A place online called "angelfire parts kits". They have 3 grades. Grade 1 is just USGI parts everything except the receiver. Grade 2 is all parts except the receiver and they put a new phosphate finish on the parts. Grade 3 is just like Grade 2, but they send a 7.62x51 NATO barrel instead of the .30-06 barrel. Grade 1 is $230. Grade 2 is $250 if I remember correctly. And Grade 3 is $300.

That is a outdated web site, no longer in business.
You cant even finD Garand parts kits today and if you do they are more than a complete Garand from CMP
