| 1943 No4mk2
Walked into a local shop today to sell a Walther P1 (still have it as they had one in pretty bad condition for $425.00 and offered me $200.00 w/ a leather soft holster and 3 mags).
They had a 1943 Fazakerley No4mk2 that was in pretty good condition, a little better then average. $495.00 . They had a Mitchells M48 for $395.00 , A Russian capture 1943 BYF '98 for 595.00.
They did have a crate of 91/30's for $110.00 each which is not a bad price at a shop. I was shocked at the pices they wanted. They did have 3 K-11 carbines in vg condition, but at $495.00 I thought they were kinda high. Hard to find, but still too high. __________________ Freedom is not free. The guy that gave the price never even looked at my P1. It could have been a P38 for all he knew. Things have gone way down hill there since Denver retired. Don't have a clue as to who this "new" expert is, but what a moron. I'll list it here instead. __________________ Freedom is not free. The best of us always leave too soon. |

I bought my 1942 Longbranch No4mk1/3 (/3 FTR 1952 trigger upgrade) for $125.00, granted that was 16 years ago. Mine also has a micrometer sight. You could also find vet bring back K98k's for $150.00. __________________ Freedom is not free. The best of us always leave too soon. |

Mosins for $110 isn't a bad price unless you consider, they are more than likely getting them for a little, if any, over $50. They won't sell a lot of rifles at those prices. It's shops like that are driving the prices rediculously high. I know it's irrelevent but, When I was about 12 there was a store about 1/2 mile up the road that had 2 big kegs. One was filled Enfields for $8.88 and the other one had Mausers for $9.88.Talk about HINDSIGHT. __________________ "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The price of enfields has really gotten out of hand in my neck of the woods also... My local shop's been selling their MN's for about the same price regardless of reciever type so I'm never too proud to drop the extra cash to get a nice hex model when I see them there.
I started collecting when I purchased my first milsurp (which was a longbranch enfield) at $150 at a gunshow 11 yrs ago. My how things have changed in that short period of time. __________________ NRA Life Member

jpattersonnh:
Have you visited "Joesalter" in NH, or did I mention it months ago? His business has never been mentioned by anybody else on gun board websites.
Told somebody in that state about it and the response was "My wife hates you".
It was a rewarding visit for some lucky guy. |
