Default 1903 springfield

I took a adventure to one of my LGS for a yugo Mauser. They had 2 of them but wanted $400 for them. So that tells how bad prices are in my area. There mosin nagants 91/30 where $150. Well I ended up finding a 1903 Springfield with a later serial #. For $350. It has the original front site and is missing the rear sight. And has a sportirized stock. I got the wife's blessing to get it. So I am gonna stop there tomorrow and put it on lay away.

There was also a Remington. It was tapped for a scope. And didn't have iron sights. And something looked different with the safety.

That's a fine gun, I have one myself. You should be able to find plenty of options for a rear sight, but they may not be real cheap. Figure on $100, you might find something for less but I would figure on it.

I put it on lay away today. Hopefully I can come up with the money sooner then later. It's a 03, the serial # is in the 900,000. So it's safe to shoot. Once I get it I will post pictures.

Also I saved it one of the employees wanted to buy it to turn in a 300 win mag are something like that. Not 100% on what he wanted to make it. I told him I'm glad I'm saving it.
