Wasn't sure where to put this,, The home range is done!
It has taken a long time, but the home range is now complete. It is hard to see in the pic, but it is a complete horseshoe 6 feet high 10 feet thick on the sides and 18 feet thick on the backside.
Just got the 4x4 posts in the ground Saturday, with 80 Lbs of concrete on each. The 2x6's and plyboard went up Sunday. So far only 50 rounds of .45ACP have been put to it, but that will change in the near future.
I have 575 yards of open flat ground infront of it all. Makes for a nice range for whatever we are going to shoot. Abuddy has a buddy that wants to bring out a 50BMG bolt gun. I wonder how long the range will last?

I wouldn't mind seeing the target board a bit lower to better utilize the backstop, but it looks like you could add to the top.
Right now, I can only get 100 yds from my backstop. and it appears you have some power line corridor out beyond.
Looks great,

Careful of them power lines...
Those helicopter electricians get real expensive per hour, especially if your buddies .50 is not quite dialed on elevation. I'd definitely think about lowering the target...but good job, I'm jellouse, I've got all of 25' from my back door to the neighbors fence.

Raise backstop and/or lower the target board. Oh, and get the powerlines moved too.
(I'm jealous)

Ok, so I added 20 more bucket loads to the back, so it did get a little taller.
It must just be the angle of the pic that makes it look like the board is too high. Maybe this weekend, I will lower the board some. The powerlines are no issue, They are a good 50-75 yards away.
For 6 years years now my buddy and I have been shooting at 2, 2'x3' steel plates, and had no backstop what so ever, and we never missed. We had to be real careful, real sure, and real good. Now, we can try some other types of training to go along with long range precision shooting.
Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions.

I want a home outdoor range so bad, but I live in a neighborhood so I can't, so I just fire my pellet rifle in my garage.

Nice, I bet you're asking yourself why did you wait so long do build it. I use the berm of my hog lagoon as the backstop and can stretch out to 175 yds. If I want to go farther, I use a creek bottom down the hill from the yard where I can shoot up to 1/2 mi. But I can only do that between fall harvest and spring planting.
