Great job did you use a router or a dado blade?

The_Kid 02-29-2012 02:12 PM

I like it!

Is the second from the top one tricky to get out?

It looks great, and sturdy. I like the wood choice.
I haven't made one yet, but I will hopefully get around to it. I was planing on doing a floor rack made of either pine, or oak to give it a rustic look. :D

I actually didn't use either... My dad had a hand wood plane in the garage and I just used that on different angles untill it's was uniform... Then sanded it smooth. It gave it a rustic look on he edges I really like. The grooves the the horizontal pieces sit In were cut with a circular saw.. Just raised the blade a bit and chipped away at it... Took longer but was cheaper than buying a router!!!

Yea the second one is a pain.. Gotta twist it back and forth to get it out but it's not to bad... Didn't realize the front sight was that big lol

I used oak for the wood... It's nice hard wood and when I got to put it up on the wall I was amazed on how sturdy it was...

As i said before looks great. I have cut grooves with a skill saw and it is a pain but when you get done and do your glue up you cannot tell a difference.

Thanks for the feedback guys!!

Don't show that to the guys from the republic of Kalifornia. They have to have there guns locked up, put away, and hidden.

Nice job though...

You could sell on eBay. I think they still allow gun racks.
