Stipple or checkering?
I am restoring a rifle for my first time and I already sanded and shaped the stock the way I want it so its come time to Figure out what grip surface I want. It's going to be a hunting rifle so the grip is important for those rainy days in the field. So my question is which is easier to do you're self? And also what would be the best finish on it?
Checkering requires a couple of special tools, a LOT of time, and a fair amount of practice.
Stippling requires no special tools, very little time, and very little(if any) practice.
Tru oil is a very popular and excellent finish.
