Start with "The ABCs of Reloading"- see Amazon for a used copy. Then any of the several load manuals- Lyman is one of many good ones. The powder companies also have load data on their websites.
Kits- what do you want to reload? Turning out a box of ammo now and again, any of the single stage presses will do. Planning to load thousands? Turret or progressive press (pays your money, takes your pick)
Brands? Everyone has a favorite- Dillion, RCBS, Lee, etc. When getting started, you could do worse than the Lee Anniversary kit. As much as I dislike Flea-Bay, shop carefully, there are bargains in used equipment.
But get the ABCs and READ it before buying anything.
