The replacement barrel would have to be turned for the barrel to fit the stock and rear sight sleeve. I would consider a new barrel liner. This would leave your rifle in the same condition with a new shiney bore.

I've never attempted to build a rifle. I've tinkered with gunsmithing a little mostly involving the Colt SAA. I guess the point I'm attempting to make is that all these imported rifles have much lower values compared to the military bring backs and anything that Mitchell does that may not be correct at this point doesn't really effect the value in the end any way. That small importers stamp on the barrel brings down value, but a good gun is still a good gun and becomes affordable for more people. What's important is that the price is reasonable for a gun that should work well and look real good. I know of no other place where one like these can be obtained.

Found this, is that a decent price on the barrel? How much should I expect to pay for gunsmith installation?

More than what it will be worth. Lots of luck with your build and send pics.

Yeah, I imagine I'll have quite a bit more in it than it will ever be worth. But I figure that it will be worth doing if I can find a receiver for a decent price.

Yes you can have the rifle lined for the 8MM "S" or 7.92X57. These liners are great I had one done some years ago. There is no way you can see where it was installed. This was for a 7.62X25 Mauser "Broom".

That's great, any idea on the average cost?

I don't know current pricing. I am sure you can google one of the shops. There is one in West Virginia near you. Don't recall the name. There is one in Washington State Redmon? or something like that.

Here is a link. You will need a .32 caliber 7.92 MM.
