Need suggestions for 10/22 Receiver and Trigger Group
Now I have a rifle and some parts.
I want to have 2 rifles.
I customized my 10/22 SS Carbine.
I have the original:
Rod and set of Springs
I want to use the left-over parts to build another running gun.
I think all I need are the Receiver and Trigger Group to make the rifle complete.
Can I go cheap?
If I go with high Dollar parts I would change them into the custom I have now and just rebuild the old rifle from it's parts.
Comments and parts Brands reviews/sources would be appreciated.
You never "go cheap" in buying parts and assembling a firearm.
What you are missing are the expensive parts, and to purchase them separately will probably set you back more than if you buy another rifle.
You can get a 10/22 partially completed receiver billet (and jig) at http://www.tacticalmachining.com/80-products/80-receivers/80-10-22-receiver.html
That is if you are really, really, into DIY.
I got an e-mail notice from Midway that the Ruger brand Trigger Groups were in stock and bought one for $49.
Depending on how it is, I may send it to StalkingBear and let him do his magic.
The Receiver I'm looking at is by Elite for $199.
Kidd makes Receivers but they cost more and I'm confused with the options and don't know if I need them.
My Bolt and Rod/Spring Ass. are by Kidd.
As far as buying a new 10/22, which is not in my equation, cheaper than what I'm doing, is easier to say than do.
Any 10/22 for sale around here is at a premium.
Got the Trigger Group today.
Reg., factory Mag. Release deal Hard pull weight.
Gonna send it to StalkingBear for a tune-up.
