If the blue is spotty, just keep reapplying it. Use oil in between coats. I used Oxpho Blue cream on my Eddystone and it's still a bit splotchy after six or so coats. I may put more on at some point, or I may not, as it's pretty decent as is and the rifle is going to be a field rifle.

I have the liquid and the cream both. Neither did all that good of a job in my book. I think a lot has to do with how good the metal is. I had a junk 513 barrel that I praticed on and boy did it come out looking good with both liquid and cream. but when I went to the mossberg barrel it looked like crapola. It was real streaky.
I have all winter to work on it. I need to make me a hot water bath I think. I tried heating it with a small propane torch and all that did was make it rust in a matter of 3 seconds.

Damn Tango that is some fine work on the wood you did there. I'm looking forward to seeing this little baby completed.
Kudos sir, kudos.

I really enjoy reworking wood stocks, it sounds like you do too. Very satisfying.

Next up is my remmy 511-x stock as it is looking rather rough last time out to the range.
