Give 'er a couple of stitches.

Beats rivets, they will scratch the handle finish.

That means I have to buy a leather needle and some kind of waxed thread I guess. I was trying to avoid it, but I guess it would be good stuff to have around the house anyway.

Okay, I'm going to the Tandy website right now.

If you have a dremel tool and a small drill bit slightly larger than your needle it will make stitching it so much easier. Just glue down your loop and drill your holes then stitch. I use a saddle stitch. You can get a leather stitching wheel to make sure your holes are evenly spaced but I freehand mine.

I'll be happy if it holds the knife and doesn't fall apart.

I use a pair of carpet sewing needles and dental floss for thread, dremel the holes with a 1/16'" bit and saddle stitch as hawg said. I like to make a D shape of stitching to hold down the belt loop, just looks nice to me.

I ordered waxed thread, a pack of ten needles, Barge cement and dark brown lacing. Glasshartt kindly gave me some really nice leather.

When it all gets here I'll cut the leather and put it together. I'll post the goings on with some pics in the project thread.

I am really looking forward to the finish product. I am in the process of making some knives and will need to make sheaths for them.
