How are they wet?

Or are they just for the BBQ?

Steel_Talon 11-07-2012 09:11 PM

Did you harden the leather?

I am a saddlemaker and it is just something I wanted to try.they have a great feel. I going to leave them on for a while and see how durable they turn out to be . If they do get wet I will probaly just oil them woth neatsfoot oul.

BillyHart 11-07-2012 10:17 PM

That is with neatsfoot oil.

They are leather, but I have delegated the gun's use to BBQ show-off duty. They are Timber Rattler with a heavy gloss finish.

The set I had on the gun before them were Prairie Rattler with a flat finish. I liked the feel and the purchase but they were just too thick. Wish I had the same hide mounted on a pair of slim stocks.
