That was kind of the plan except for getting hung up on the finer points on the first one. It is great advice and I appreciate it, I just don't know if I can follow it. I usually get to caught up in trying to get things right. I know better but...

Does anyone have any ideas for the style of the first knife? Anyhting you would like to see attempted?

Leaf springs aren't usually straight. There's a slight curve that will take heating to straighten and retempering and still may revert back to former shape. Old saw blades make good knives.
