Thanks for the tips. I would like to make a cheek rest for my Mosin that has a pouch for a few stripper-clips, a holster for my pistol, a holster for my wife's pistol, and that's really about it. Anything else would just be for fun.

Heres my first few tries at 1911 holsters. The spiderweb one issnt compleatly done yet it need some edge work and polishing its still wet.

Made some rifle slings. The black ones for my new savage 270. The other two are Christmas presents for a guy I work with.

The slings look good, Barney. Ya know, I may hire you to make me a holster in a couple months if I ever buy my dream revolver.

Hmm mm how about leather grips. Cheap little 25 I picked up at the pawn shop while I was getting my wife a new gun. I was going to refinish the old wood grips but found I had some really stiff thick scraps of leather in a box. They don't lay perfectly flat there working alright so far.
