I own a Mosin Nagant m91/30 and I love the thing to death. Personally I enjoy firearms how they were made at the factory. When it comes to old military rifles and firearms in particular I would rather just leave it in the form it is in and not sporterize it or customize it in any manner. Another thing to note is that when it comes to sporterizing a Mosin Nagant you will usually winde up spending more money to sporterize it than the firearm cost.

It's your rifle, do what you want with it.

Personally, I can't see putting that kind of time or money into a Mosin. But, whatever floats your boat.

At least he finally picked a gun he can get his hands on.

I also like keeping old mil surps as origional as possible but it's your gun so you do what ever you want to it. What you could do though is find a mosin nagant that has already been altered in some way or find one thats in pretty rough shape (worn blue, worthless stock, ect) and just refinish it as you modify it. It could end up saving you a couple of bucks or costing you a few more (depends on the amount of work and tools that are needed to repair it) Once again it's your choice and only your choice. Just my 2 cents

P.S. That was a bad ass rifle.

Happy building

I really like the idea of customized one of a kind guns. The guy in the video did a really nice job making himself a customized sniper rifle and I'm interested to see what you do if you choose to do something like this.
