Default Did some mod's to the 4 Wheeler today.

Since the drought kinda spoiled my deer season this year,I just decided to work on some projects that were on my mind.
I've wanted a storage box,and a gun/bow rack for a while. Most of the hard storage boxes for atv's that I've looked at were made really crappy + really expensive.
I found this diamond plate aluminum box online and ordered it.It's a little smaller than I wanted, but it'll do.I like how sturdy it seems to be,plus it's powder coated black, and also locks.

Arctic Cat has a neat rack system called Speedrack, they have all kinds of accessories for them, and that also lets the owner be able to make things to work with them.
Instead of having to drill holes in everything you want to mount, and then use U-bolts to mount to a round tube, there are several square ports made on each rack.

So by welding a couple brackets together,I have a storage box/gun rack that can be taken off/put on in about 10 seconds.
I welded some 5/8" bolts to a piece of 1 1/2" flat stock for the bases.

After everything was setup,I then mounted the box to the base using some 5/16 carriage bolts.I like to use this type of bolt,so that there isn't really anything sticking up on the bottom of the box to catch or hang up on items put in it.

After everything was test fitted,I took it all apart and then primed/painted the mounting bases, then reassembled after drying.
It don't look to bad for some Redneck Engineering!

The lid is also opened and held with a gas strut, which is very handy.

Next up was mounting the gunracks to the top of the storage box. I bought the ATV Tek 2 gun pro setup. These are adjustable in everyway. You can change the width 8" +/- on each side, plus each head rotates 360* and will hold just about anything you want to put in them.
Mounting these is pretty straight forward,I just centered them on the box, drilled 4 holes, tighten 4 bolts, then put the rest together on the bases.

Only thing wrong with what I'm seeing is that you're riding an arctic cat...other than that it's awesome.
