We will as soon as both 1911s are finished.

I appreciate JD's grace in slowing down his presentation.

I'm sure Big Thunder II is complete but he must be giving Fenrir additional time to get back from my smith!

Thanks bro but you deserve the right to show you finished first! (I'm NOT conceding! Just giving due props.)

There should be no doubt that JD and I are in total agreement with respect to our loyalty to the 1911 pattern handgun.

BUT, as you can tell JD and my style tastes are a near full spectrum apart. I think that's what makes this build-off so great.

With the exception of the die-in-the-wool poly gunners (God bless them) this little FTF contest has broad appeal with some element that most everyone can find useful.

I think after completion of the build-off, JD plans to clean up the thread to expunge nonsensical posts. I think we have, to date, given a great deal of useful information to all members/visitors.

It is my hope (and vested interest) that we do not rush to finish this thread. The issues we have encountered are real life and thus, provide more relevant, empirical data, to all whom may be desirous to attempt a like modification to their own 1911.

To help speed up this contest please go here;

and send an email.

Thanks,

So - Here is the finished product! I need to wait for a good sunny day to get some quality shots of the grips and the finish.

Many Thanks to Robar for their quality work.

Many Thanks to Larry Davidson from Davidson Knives for CNC'ing these grips from G-10 for me.

Wait! What is that? What is it about those grips??

A little better shot of these fantastic grips that Davidson Knives crafted up for me.

I love the feel of these bad boys. They lock in tight to your palm and don't let go!

But...but...yer blek. (movie?)

That sure is black!

How do you find it at night? (A big tritium smile?)

And is that an oil drilling rig on the back end of your slide?

OK I'm green again!

Simply outstanding JD. Those grips are perfect!

No where near as nice as the grips dunerunner got for Canebrake though.

All kidding aside.......................I don't know how to act with all kidding aside!!

Great job JD!

Now if we can keep the barbarians at the gate until I get Fenrir completed.
