I personally would want the rifle for myself, I have no means of producing more then my own collection. Which after my recent divorce is minus my two favs a Yugo M70 ab2 and a Bushmaster M4

I remember reading an ad for Sig 716 in 7.62x54. Gotta be a misprint.

a more modern bolt action? so for example chamber it in a mauser? lol most moderen actions are "improved" mauser actions... id grab a Siamese(sp?) mauser it has a sloped mag box and it feeds 45-70 really nice should do the 7.62x54r just as well

What a great ideal. But that cheap suplus ammo won't last forever my friend an we will be back to square one with ammo prices. Enjoy that ammo in the mosin nagant platforms wile you still can.. If u want cheap ammo for the ar platform go with the 5.45x39. Not a man stopper like the 54r but it will make a great round for target shooting..
