Yeah I watched a few to make sure it was something I could tackle without a mill.

Thanks! Each new build is partly inspired by a new color that needs to be added to my collection!

I have been wondering about starting a sort of group-share deal using the tooling and jigs for 80% projects. there is one that is a weld-together steel kit for like $25, but you need a tap to thread the buffer tube hole at the rear. That tap is $75.

I was thinking of buying a tap and then making it available to FTF members for like $10 and then get it returned so I could send it to someone else.

I am wondering if the same idea would work for the different jigs for milling purposes. Personally I want to try an AR10 80% build myself, but I would want to get one cash over the counter locally rather than risk having any of my info stored and stolen by the BATFE like what is happening with Ares Armor right now. Honestly I would like to be able to buy one directly from Ares to help them out though. I might make the trip just for that reason.

Yeah, NO-DOC SPUDS makes the no fence, partial fence, and full fence. Also make a charging handle inside the carry handle. Don't know if they have any of these in 80%, but might be worth making a phone call. They advertise in SGN all the time.

They have an indeterminate backorder on their gray A1 spec lowers unfortunately, the black ones are caught up but I need a gray one.

They are considering doing some 80% lowers but none as of yet.

I also want to try my hand at an 80% lower, but instead of the AR-10 pattern I want to go with the LR-308. I've been shopping around and really it's not much cheaper unless you already have a jig. Either way, I want to go 80% for both the learning experience and the fact that (in NY state at least) you have to be 21 to buy a stripped lower. In case someone is watching me on here (paranoia runs deep), when I build it, it will be safe act compliant....FUAC
