Well either way from what I've been reading I think ill have to cut the reciever lengthen it because the .338 is a magnum round. Ill have to rebarrel it because the mosin is only 7.62 which is roughly a .308. The only easy part about the whole process will be that the bolt has interchangeable heads so you can adjust for head space. Idk it seems like a huge undertaking for my gunsmithing skills but hey it never hurts to try it.

With the price of a mosin it couldn't hurt to try

I've built my ar lowers already now I'm looking at a 1911 build same concept just a little more expensive but should be fun.

There ya go. That will be a fun one. I was thinking about trying to machine a frame and slide for the 1911. I have all the prints for it just need to sit down and write the programs.

A company called aresarmor sales a kit with all you need,it would be awesome to have a cnc machine but I'm working with an old lathe.

Yeah I found that company when I was searching for better prices on 80% lowers. I didn't happen to see what you mentioned though. If you get a chance post a link please. Thanks

when you go to www.aresarmor.com look for the rudius 1911 80% frame there will be alot of info from there they have a tutorial video you can watch and they were offering a complete parts package also.

yes as soon as i wrap up a couple money pit projects i started, i may have to wait a couple months but it is in the cards.....well pending approval from the wife.
