What, a drug trial? This is a gun forum, not a drug testing facility???

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

I was trying to be polite.

I spoke with the gunsmith on Friday. he said it should be done in a couple of weeks. I'll just hang back and it will be done when it's done. I figure a couple of weeks is more realistically mid to late May.

Update:

I spoke with the Smith yesterday. It's almost ready to be blued. He now has enough guns to warrant a blueing session. So in about two weeks or so, it should be done.

I'm still waiting.

I spoke with the smith yesterday and he says the hood on the new barrel is a tad short. I'm bummed. It's new from a 70 series Colt.
So he's going to put a Kart barrel in. Then the reblue. (someday)

He's had it four + months.

Misery loves company, my Defender went in Jan 16th!!

Maybe we should have a little bet on which one will get back first.

At least one of us would feel good for waiting this long!!

Do you suppose it would speed things up if we all started calling him for daily status reports? I'm almost as excited to see the finished product as you are, I think.

If I ever get it back, I'll be extremely happy to post a plethora of pics.
