Default 10/22, Ranch Hand Style

I have a Ruger Charger Pistol that I want to put a stubby stock on similar to the Rossi Ranch Hand. Where can I find specifics to the legal length and/or shape of the stock on a pistol? Thanks

If you can't find one then the best idea would be to either build the stock yourself or buy a full length stock and cut it down to size.

That's the plan. I just wonder if there are legal measurements that I have to stick to. I don't want to get snagged for having an unlicensed SBR when that isn't my intention. I'm just trying something not off the shelf.

As long as it doesn't have a fore grip or stock it is not considered a rifle by the ATF, you may want to check the atf's website. But I think if the stock is the same basic shape of the lever action rifle you showed then you'll be fine.

the Ruger Charger is a pistol from Ruger that uses the 10/22 action. he is wanting to put a Rossi Ranch Hand type stock on it. the Ranch Hand is also classified as a pistol. now whether it will work or not is the million dollar question, as to hwo much work and modification it will take to complete.

this is not legal advice or to be taken as such, but i think legally it can be done. using a pistol stock from one firearm to another pistol.

but i would suggest contacting the BATF for further advice on this to CYA.
