look at wolff gun springs, lighter springs will help a lot. I don't think the age of the shooter is as important as mentioned before in this thread. It's your responsibility the keep things safe.

seriously, you didn't just suggest that for a five year old childs pistol? after numerous reasons why it's bad and you suggest that he modify a pistol to make it easier for a child to shoot. WRONG! very wrong advice. modifying a pistol for a lighter trigger pull for an experianced shooter is one thing, but bad advice for a beginner or a child learning to shoot. could have very bad results. and another point you are wrong on is, the age and ability for someone to safely shoot a psitol has much to do with safety and responsibility.

I looked up the P22 on Wiki and found it should have a 5lb pull, fired single action and 12 lb double action. maybe you could show her how to pull the hammer back(safely)?
