Default Gun Smithing Tools

When you go for files, pick up craftsman 5.5'' made in swtz. 6 files in the set. This set contains all the files you will need for intricate work. As for stones, check out the new diamond impregnated type. You might try and find a flat piece of stone ( marble) for lapping. Also different grades of lapping compound. For polishing pick up at sears box of Jewlers Rouge. Good Luck. Wills in da Swamp In La. One Shot One Kill..........

If you want to do serious gun-work and it concerns anything for removing metal or anything of the sort, go slow. Its easier to take metal off than put it back on.
A good set of brass punches should be your second purchase, you'll be punching a lot of pins if you plan on doing serious gun work and you dont want to do damage to the pins. Get you some really fine steel wool, its great for several things, refinishing, cleaning and polishing. Of course with steel wool if you polish too hard on a blued surface you'll take the bluing off if you're not careful.
