Default Tap+Die Questions for Mosin Screws

The Mosin bayonet screw is 32 pitch and the od is .256 my question is what kind of tap and dies do I need? Is this a specific European size? I have a 1/4 x 32 tap and that chases the threads, but the 1/4 x32 die is no way going to chase the screw. Anyone have anything to offer up for help?
Thanks in advance.

On wierd screws i use either a hand held thread file which looks like a square file with different tbread spacing on each side and end. http://www.zoro.com/g/00056324/k-G1309061?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=cpc &utm_campaign=Google_Shopping_Feed&kpid=G1309061&g clid=CJK2lqjgjb4CFecWMgodnGsASg

Link is a similar product. They come in various thread pitch and size ranges.

I also usd a inside thread restorer.

Worse case i use a very small file to even out the burrs and thread edges.

I use a thread shaping file myself. There are only two common shaping files, metric and SAE. Thread shaping files are good for removing locktite. If you have to replace the screw numrich or eBay should have it.
